The Premise

When someone is kept confined against their wishes, over time, they tend to feel dejected or even depressed if left unchecked or unattended. Even in cases where one chooses to confine oneself willingly, one still grows an affinity towards negativity after a certain point when the rinse and repeat of a strict schedule starts to feel like a burden instead of a cure. Yet discipline & schedule are the two foundations of success and cannot be avoided if one is to maintain a sustainable quality of life, however slow the progress may be initially.

Losing Control in the Pursuit of Pleasure

Staying on course with time is like staying in orbit – try lesser or harder and you tend to spiral out of control either way, while lessons repeat till we learn. We don’t even get too many chances as life as we know it is quite fragile and there is a point of no return not too far away from anyone, no matter how well off. In the face of a reality which rewards persistence with healthy basics, most of us are left to either make do with less dramatic options or lose our lives to hedonism. The kind of people we deal with have developed a tendency of choosing the latter more while the issue with an unrestrained pursuit of pleasure is that it eventually leads to insanity & self-destruction, mostly quite quickly and without a shred of mercy.

Part of the Solution

We at Ascend, a premium rehabilitation centre, are aware of the perils which await our patients if they are left to make decisions on their own while they are not in a state to even take care of the very basic necessities of life such as personal hygiene. While we work to gradually change their habits, ideologies & personalities – a step at a time – we have a set of personnel dedicated to monitor and maintain a positive mentality in each one of our patients. They are the peer motivators, tasked with identifying the issues, expressed or otherwise, which may act as barriers to the sought after state of willingness. For if one feels the lack of motivation consistently, they will not be able to regain their footing in life for longer than is necessary.

The Peer Motivators

Our peer motivators are carefully handpicked, ones who have walked similar paths before finding a way out of their mess and who are equipped with a niche skill set which enables them to intuitively evaluate the needs of a patient or a situation and work towards a desired outcome at a moment’s notice. They are experts at negating even charged atmospheres and restoring balance and smiles before things get out of hand. They are trained to pick up on even the most subtle of hints which escape those troubled and which reveal how one is feeling and more – sometimes without even a direct look so as to not make someone feel observed and uneasy.

Peer Support You Can Trust

Our patients are our first priority – their safety, stability, sobriety and their sanity. This is the vision which is shared amongst our staff but especially amongst our peer motivators, since they are the ones who are left to interact the most with our patients throughout their length of stay. Those who are eventually chosen for this role are those who are patient, observant and those who excel at empathy as well as execution without revealing their intentions so as to not hurt patients while correcting them. This is only possible in people with the right kind of experience & culture, so we at this premium rehabilitation centre take thorough care to ensure that the ones with this very critical role are equipped to deal with anything and everything in their sphere of influence which might catch most others unprepared.
